As advertised the mesh on the hay net is soft. It seems sturdy. Unfortunately it is very hard to load. There are no metal rings for the string to run through, so it tends to knot up. The hay, both types that I feed, catches on the soft mesh and even with a holder keeping it open, it is hard to load.
I like the size of these but they twist up more than any other net I've ever used. They're a pain to untangle and I just don't have time for it.
